What they don’t tell you about Big Pharma

Big Pharma controls most of the research

A 2000 study found that nearly half of medical school faculties who serve on institutional review boards (IRBs) to advise on clinical trial research also serve as consultants to the pharmaceutical industry. Campbell EG, Weissman JS, Clarridge B, Yucel R, Causino N, Blumenthal D .

Food companies and pharmaceutical companies are joining their efforts to teach doctors about medical nutrition.

A few names for the skeptics: Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Egg Nutrition Board, National Dairy Council, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Nestle Clinical Nutrition.

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)

JAMA gave a small number on the extent of the devastating side effects of medication. The very conservative number? 106,000 people die every year in hospitals from the effects of drugs. And this number only reports the people who died in the hospital. We have to look at this number as the tip of the iceberg:

106,000 people is a big number already, but could the real number be larger, could JAMA be biased?

“The (JAMA) is almost entirely subventioned (funded) by advertising from the pharmaceutical companies.”

“It is almost impossible to find a scientist writing for the JAMA who has no financial ties with drugs companies.

” Officially, a bad reaction to medication is the fourth leading cause of death in America, but as we’ll see, it’s probably the top one.”

” Very few iatrogenic events (mistakes committed by medical care practitioners) are reported; only 5% – 20%.

See the Best Kept Secret.

“The JAMA also reported more than 2,216,000 severe medication reactions in US hospitals annually.”

Remember that most patients are sent home before the adverse reaction will is noticed making the number of people with severe medication reactions much larger and virtually impossible to tally.

Underreporting?

“A third of MDs never fill out or even ever see the FDA form that they are supposed to fill out in case of an adverse reaction to a drug.”

” The method of research used to produce this number of 106,000 was very rigorous. The authors took into consideration only the severe, disabling side effects causing permanent disability and excluded major negative reactions like dizziness and sickness, even if they lasted for months.”

How much is 106,000 deaths?

Severe. To give you a clearer picture, I will say that it is an average of 300 people daily, about two jetliners crashing on US soil every single day. One terrorist attack like September 11 every 10 days, representing six towers collapsing every single month in the center of Manhattan.

Even though this is a very conservative estimate, this is more than the combined deaths caused by:

  • Automobile accidents
  • AIDS
  • Alcohol and illicit drugs use
  • Diabetes and murders
